Teaching is my passion.  When I think of my classroom, I always think of the quote from my favorite movie, Forrest Gump, “Momma always says, life is like a box of chocolates.  You never know what you’re gonna get.”  Every year, I anticipate the arrival of my new box of chocolates, my students!  I know that each one of my sweet students will be different, and that brings me such joy.  I love the individuality I see.  I love that I can see differences in skills, social and academic.  And even though there are these individual differences that make each one of my students special; we come together as a little classroom family, respecting and celebrating each other, and making our classroom our home.  It is my hope that each day, my students come to class and feel loved, happy, and ready to learn.  I strive to help them be the best they can be while instilling a sense of confidence.  My classroom is very structured, but fun and nurturing at the same time.  I believe in each of my students and will do whatever I can to individualize my teaching to meet each of their needs.  I am always learning new strategies and techniques to reach all of my students.  This is very important to me.  Teaching has given me many rewards. It is a profession that continues to make me more aware and appreciative of the differences in our world, and it is a gift that I will always cherish. It leaves me in such awe knowing that I am teaching a classroom of future teachers, doctors, soldiers and maybe even a president! I look forward to a new and fantastic journey this year.

We read Crankenstein today and used adjectives to describe how Crankenstein felt throughout the book.  The kids got to draw their own picture of Crankenstein and wrote about him using their adjectives.  Fun October activity!
