All about Me
Years ago, during my senior year of high school, I participated in a program in which I spent half of each day assisting in a kindergarten classroom. My dream at that time was to become a teacher. But life happened and I ended up on a different path. Years later, my niece was diagnosed as being on the Autism Spectrum. While researching ASD and helping with my niece, I rediscovered my desire to work with children. The 2019-20 school year will be my 5th working in Special Education. I spent my first 3 years working as an assistant in an elementary Life Skills classroom with Mesquite ISD. I am grateful for the exceptional teacher whom I assisted. She taught me how to work with some wonderful students. During this time, I had heard many great stories about HPISD from my niece's parents. So, when a position opened at HPISD during my 4th year at MISD, I immediately applied. I was blessed to be hired to work as a Resource: In Class Support Assistant at MIS where I loved working with the 5th and 6th grade students. Now, for my 5th year, I am excited to once again work with elementary age students in the Fundamentals classroom at Hyer! Go Huskies!
I look forward to working with Hyer students and families in the coming years!
