Author of Hyer’s One School One Book, Kate Messner, visited the Hyer library Jan. 19. She spoke to the students about how to do proper research for topics they wanted to write about and the importance of using primary sources. They also discussed how authors create multiple drafts for their books and the role that revising their work plays in writing. The students even got to discuss the One School, One Book “Marty McQuire” with the author.
