Welcome Hyer Huskies! My name is Michael Aguirre (or Mr. A). I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and this is my third year at Hyer and my eleventh year in Special Education. I have lived in Dallas for 3 years now. I received my undergraduate in Multidisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso (Go Miners!!). I will be starting my Master’s program from Grand Canyon University in the area of Special Education.
Special Education has really been a lifelong calling that stems from my mother’s passion who was elementary school principal for nearly 19 years. She was in Education for 33 years. She devoted her heart and soul in the lives of young students and now I want to be able to do the same and continue to carry her “flame”. I have worked with students with have various cognitive and physical disabilities. Working with special needs students is both challenging and rewarding at the same time. I feel that each and every year presents itself with new and unique opportunities and challenges that enhance my understanding and appreciation towards meeting the educational and vocational needs of my students.
I am beyond excited to be a part of such an amazing Hyer family and equally excited to start the new 2017-2018 school year.
