All About Me

Welcome to Hyer TAG!  I’m Carrie Boydston and I’m so excited to begin the 2021-2022 school year with you!  This will be my twenty-eighth year in education and my fourteenth year at Hyer!  I began my teaching career in Richardson ISD teaching fourth and fifth grade at Wallace Elementary.  I then served as an Instructional Coach for nine years prior to coming to Hyer to teach TAG.

Growing up I had the opportunity to live around the country in states such as:  Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Tennessee, and finally Texas!  I graduated from Plano Senior High School and then went to Texas A&M University for my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies……  Gig ‘Em Aggies!  Several years later I earned my master’s degree in Teacher Leadership. 

In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers & Aggies, soaking up the sun, and volunteering at The Birthday Party Project. 

I’m looking forward to all of the fun and learning that awaits us this year!  I cherish my relationships with the students and feel strongly that a partnership between home and school is invaluable.  Can’t wait to see you at school!
