The PTA works with Ms. Thompson, Hyer’s Counselor, to organize school-wide community service projects with the Kindness and Compassion (KC) Club. The KC Club is a group of 4th grade students who spend time serving Hyer and the surrounding community through community service projects. Their efforts make a difference in the community each year. The KC Club selects four different outreach projects and works to get every Hyer student involved!
The KC CLUB is currently partnering with Vogel Alcove to collect new socks and new and gently used coats. Vogel Alcove serves as many as 200 children from homeless families each day in Dallas. They serve children between the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years old by providing early childhood programming, school age services, mental health integration, medical services, and family support programs.
From October 9-15, the KC Club will host a school-wide donation titled SOCKTOBER to collect the following needed items:
New socks in sizes 2T-6T
New and gently used coats in sizes 2T- 6T up to a child
Donation boxes will be located throughout the school near each entrance door. Thank you in advance for your participation to help the children of Vogel Alcove!
The KC Club is proud to partner with the following organizations for the 2018-2019 school year:
