Robert S. Hyer Elementary

I am happy to begin my second year as a Campus Instructional Technologist at Hyer.  In my previous 15 years, I taught kindergarten and first grade.  I also was a Professional Development Coordinator in  Garland ISD.

Technology has became a passion of mine. I enjoy working with teachers and students to enhance learning through technology integration.

I graduated from Texas A&M-Commerce with a BS degree in Elementary Education and a MS degree in Instructional Technology.

My hobbies include exploring photography, snow skiing, scuba diving, going on adventures and spending time with my family and three dogs.

I look forward to the future of technology at Hyer Elementary School!

Common Sense Educational - Digital Footprint

A great video from Common Sense for students learn that the information they put online leaves a digital footprint or “trail.” This trail can be big or small, helpful or hurtful, depending on how they manage it. Students follow the digital information trails of two fictional animals. They make observations about the size and content of each trail, and connect these observations by thinking critically about what kinds of information they want to leave behind. Open a conversation with your Husky about their Digital Footprint.

BrightBytes Technology Survey

HPISD is partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research and analytics company, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning.

We are reaching out to ask you to take part in our HPISD questionnaire. Your participation helps us form a complete picture of technology use for learning. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy and they will help your child's school choose the right technology for their classrooms. It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.

The last day to complete this questionnaire is Friday, March 3rd.
