3rd Grade Math

Third grade TAG math students receive math instruction in the TAG classroom daily from 10:15-11:15am.  The math curriculum is accelerated and enriched with a heavy emphasis on problem-solving.  Mentoring Mathematical Minds, a research-based mathematics program written for gifted students, is our primary resource and enVision is used as a support resource.  Students are provided challenging, engaging, hands-on math lessons in the classroom that create an enthusiasm for learning.  The lessons are designed to provide relevance and a real-world connection that will encourage a passion for mathematics.  Students work independently, with partners, and in cooperative groups for concept development and project-based learning experiences that offer complexity and depth of meaning.
